Smoothie Professional

I know it’s been a few weeks since the holidays but man it is hard getting back into the schedule life again. I have a new planner that I have been writing all my to do’s in so *fingers crossed* everything goes according to schedule. In addition, I wrote everything in pencil so that the planner looks a little neater than my last few.

Anyways it’s the morning so time for breakfast.


Doesn’t look tasty but it is!

I have been on a smoothie kick for the past week. I use to suck at making smoothies, which you would think would be the easiest thing to make, right? I could never get them to taste like the ones you get at juice bars or restaurants. Fortunately, I have been making the same smoothie for the past week that I have absolutely loved.



  • 1/2 cup of strawberry yogurt
  • some almond milk
  • bunch of frozen strawberries
  • 2 or 3 cubes of pineapple

Thats all I need to put in the blender to make it tasty! I guess I never realized less can be better when it comes to smoothies. I also add 2 tsp of flax seeds to the smoothie if I remember too. The only reason I am adding flax seed is because the one in my fridge is about to expire.

I should probably end this post at this point so I don’t end up typing 1,000 words on all the different crappy smoothies I have made.

Happy Monday! It won’t be a bad day because the Bachelor is on tonight. I would have looked terrible on every date that was shown last week. I cringe just imagining going on some of these dates that are on the show.







How Do You Not Overpack?


Wishing I could be drinking this hot chocolate right now. The main goal of today is to finish packing for my trip because I hate packing and I also don’t want to wait until the last possible day to pack Β because we all know that leads to overpacking. I am so excited for my trip! πŸ™‚

Happy Friday!

I am typing this with a hot cup of tea. I woke up way too early from a scary nightmare so here I am writing up this post. Isn’t it frightening how real nightmares can seem? Anyways it’s Friday so I am sure many people are waking up with a smile. πŸ™‚

Breakfast this morning was an omelette with a banana on the side. The omelette may not look appetizing, but it is ridiculously good.

Lesson of the Day

Quick breakfast this morning!


I have a busy day ahead of me. I have work, a fitness class, appointments to attend, and flashdrives to buy.

I bought a flash drive to save all of my info on because I am unsure if I am going to buy a new computer. I have had my computer since 2010 so it’s a little bit slow. Anyhoo! I went to the store and bought the cheapest flashdrive because I figured a fancy one wouldn’t be necessary. Well it looks like I need an education in flashdrive shopping because I bought a flashdrive that wasn’t too helpful. I left the store with a 8GB flashdrive, which is pretty much a waste because just my photo collection alone is 13GB. 😦

Lesson of the Day:

Check the gigabytes on your computer before buying a flashdrive.

What Are The Cool Kids Up To

Happy Monday!

I ran 4 miles! Yay! πŸ™‚ When I ran last week it ended up terribly. I made it to the end of mile 1 and I honestly felt like crap so I just turned around and went home. I literally threw in the towel and got in the shower because running was just not happening. Today, I woke up and just ran and ran until I felt like going home.

I thought I would compile a bunch of pictures from this week.

I made this awesome cauliflower fried rice . I found the recipe onΒ whatsfordinneresq . It tasted amazing like I ate the whole thing in two days.

Here is a picture of my alarm clock that I set before I took a shower. I was scared that I would miss the beginning of The Bacholorette. I could not possibly be the only one who goes into a trance like state in the shower, right?

I bought a magic bullet last week so I am trying out different recipes. I made a strawberry smoothie for the first time and I must say it tasted great! I made it the next day to have on my way to work and it kept me full for three hours. Not bad! I might add chia seeds to see if that will keep my belly full for a little longer.

I always try to use a reusable bag when I go grocery shopping so my mom bought me one from a british store that she visited in LA.




Fritatta Time

Check out these fritatta muffins I made today. They are tasty and perfect for work days. I just pop them in the microwave for around 20 seconds, then I eat them while listening to some music on my way to work. I think they are pretty healthy (I say I think because I used to think tortilla chips were pretty healthy until I saw someone frying them last Friday) so its nice to start a work day on the right foot.

In other exciting news! I bought my first triangl bikini. I am so excited to wear it in the summer. The neoprene material feels super comfy and I am pretty sure I am already in love with the bikini bag it came with.


I was trying to change the sheets on my bed last night and my dog just would not move. She is barely five pounds but she knows how to stand her ground.

Starting On The Right Foot

Monday has me all happy today. I got up super early (early for me) to join a soul cycle class, then I was headed to watch the latest Game of Thrones episode at my friend, Harper’s place. I grabbed a chopped salad and hot chocolate from Lenwich before I hopped on the subway. I have passed Lenwich many times but this was my first time walking in and I loved it! There are so many options to choose from.

I know I have mentioned that I am trying to lose a few pounds and tone up a bit but the hot chocolate was calling me soooo….

It was pretty funny trying to watch Game of Thrones at Harper’s because the glare from her window was really bad. If you watch Game of Thrones then you know that show tends to be very hard to watch in the day light. We had to throw a blanket over her window curtains to try and block out some of the light. Our moms would be cringing if they saw what the window looked like.Β  It is always fun getting to spend time with friends. We had to pause the show a few times to allow us to make some remarks, which happens basically anytime I watch that show.

Is Painting Hard?

Happy Friday!

I went to a pottery place with my friend Harper today. I wanted to make a flower pot for my mom for Mother’s Day. I figured I would try giving her a unique gift that none of my other siblings would be giving her this year. I looked at a few pottery places on the internet. I found some great places we could go to; however I am a bit on the dumb side when it comes to pottery. I wasn’t aware that the actual act of making pottery was really hard work and involves 8 weeks worth of classes. If you have seen the movie It Takes Two, then you would understand why I thought pottery was easy considering the last time I watched it I was 10. Fortunately, I found a place where we could just paint pottery.

There was so many different shapes and sizes of pottery to choose from. Luckily, they had a perfect size flower pot for me and Harper picked a large seashell and tiny vase. There was so many different colors of paint to choose from, which is like my worst nightmare because I am terrible at making choices. Haha. All of the colors were so pretty so I can’t really complain.


Two things I realized while painting:

  1. I will never be a professional painter.
  2. I am not surprised I always got a “B” in art class.

It ended up being a lot of fun. We were able to drink wine and listen to some good music. I totally recommend doing this with friends or family. Painting is super relaxing so I understand now why lots of people have been enjoying adult coloring books. I am hoping to go back soon to make a cute bowl toΒ  have for oatmeal or pasta.

Once, we left pottery we headed over to a mexican restaurant to grab some drinks and obviously guac because no man gets left behind.

I ordered a salad to try to counteract the amount of guac I was consuming. I also enjoyed this tasty drink called a Strawberry Fields.

I cannot remember what exactly was in it but it was strong, which is why you will not being seeing a picture of my salad. I was like a talking machine once I had my first sip so taking anymore pictures wasn’t really on my mind.

My Poor Calves

I ran 4 miles and did a kettlebell class on Monday.

I ran 3 miles yesterday.

Today, I am running 2 miles, then heading over to a kettlebell class.

My calves feel soooooo tight! I have been massaging them all morning. I am definitely making tomorrow my rest day. I have just been on this weird high when it comes to running. The weather in NY has been gorgeous and I have always felt like the best way to enjoy a nice day out is through exercise or you know outside brunch with friends.

This morning I made a a heart shaped waffle.

I love pancakes and waffles, which is a good and bad thing. Good because they are yummy but bad because obviously they are not the healthiest. I feel like as I have gotten older I have acquired a stronger sweet tooth. When I was kid I ate really healthy and said no to foods such as ice cream, brownies, pancakes, and cookies.

The other day I went to TJ Maxx in search of a large mirror. While I was in the checkout line I saw this package of organic pancake mix called Birch Benders.


When I read the nutrition factsΒ  I saw that the mix was soy and dairy free. I figured I would buy it and try it out. I am trying to limit my intake of soy for personal reasons. I have been blown away by how much food has soy in it that you would normally think wouldn’t. Two of my favorite nut bars that I eat as a snack at work have soy in it. 😦

Anyways so I tried the pancake mix and I really liked it. I didn’t notice a difference in taste and it is way easier to cut the recipe in half so that I don’t eat more than one proper serving. I have been putting almond butter on top with cut up pieces of strawberries. So far my Wednesday has been starting off nicely. When I am done writing this post I will be heading on my morning run.

Queen of Awkward

Guys! I have my hot chocolate next to me and I am watching The Bachelor finale. Basically I am living the Monday night dream. I am so bummed the season is ending. Can’t we just start a new season next Monday? I am sure they can easily find a cute, single guy that is willing to be on television.

Anyhoo!I just left kettlebell so my abs feel like they are on fire!! Do you ever have a moment where you are in a public environment and it’s like your brain travels to another land then all of a sudden you remember where you are? In my class, the instructor was showing us a move, then all of a sudden I started thinking about something embarrassing that I did at work today. Next thing I know I look around and everyone is holding their kettlebell and I am just standing there with my kettlebell still on the ground.

I am the queen of awkward during fitness classes. Last weekend I went to grab my weight during soul cycle and my hand hit the weight into the wall. I guess I went to grab it and the front of my hand hit the weight too quickly. Now imagine me twisting my feet out of the locked pedals and the instructor asking if “I was okay back there?”
